I am Eleanor (aka The Crochet Faerie), an autistic queer fiber artist, CPTSD & chronic llness survivor, and warrior of empathy.
This world sings a song of such deep suffering; a melody I have harmonized with all too often. Human society is so strange and twisted, and is particularly hard to navigate as a neurodivergent.
It is my wish to create a new beautiful life for myself, perhaps even a different reality. My deepest dream is to find complete and utter freedom- from the nightmares of my past, from the restrictions of my weakened body, from the vicious verbals from those who don’t understand…
It is my belief that self expression is a form of freedom, and is an essential part of the healing process. I design crochet patterns, sharing my inspirations and imaginings in the hopes that others will use my patterns as tools throughout their own creative ventures.
Will my artistry create change for the better? Perhaps not. That is for me to discover. Reguardless, I will step forward and fight for myself and my fellow survivors with every fibre of my being. I am creating a new existence for myself, one stitch at time.
